Asif Ali to team up with Jeethu Joseph for the director’s next film?

Jeethu Joseph has turned himself into a bankable director in the Malayalam film industry with his impressive filmography. The latest news is that the director will next team up with young star Asif Ali for a movie. 

According to a report by Times of India, Jeethu Joseph and Asif Ali will join hands next for a movie, and further details about the project are awaited. The movie will also feature actors such as Renji Panicker, Baburaj and some actors from the Tamil industry. 

The report also suggests that the project will commence from February 20 and will be filmed in major locations in Pollachi and Marayur. The title of the project will officially be revealed by the makers soon. 

Jeethu Joseph, who made his directorial debut with Detective in 2007, has also helmed Drishyam, one of the most celebrated Malayalam movies of recent times. The director’s last movie was the much-awaited sequel to the family drama thriller starring Mohanlal and Drushyam 2, its Telugu remake starring Venkatesh. 

The director has been busy since and has been working on two movies which are now awaiting a release. Ram starring Mohanlal will be a realistic action thriller while 12th Man is a mystery thriller, also starring Mohanlal in the lead role. 

Asif Ali was last seen in the drama Kunjeldho, which was also the directorial debut of Mathukkutty. The movie which was released in theaters on December 24 last year also received a fairly positive response from the audience. He also appeared as the narrator in the comedy Jaan-E-Mann. 

Ali also has a long list of movies he is working on, including Kuttavum Shikshayum, Kothth, Kaapa and an untitled movie with Jis Joy.
