Bachchhan Paandey might not touch even Rs. 50 crores at the Box Office.

Bachchhan Paandey, at long last, has crossed Rs. 40 crore mark at the Box Office. The movie is crawling towards Rs. 50 crores but whether it can actually touch the mark is a big question mark. Akshay Kumar’s film minted Rs. 3.25 crores nett on its first Tuesday i.e. on day six.
The movie currently has the total Box Office collection of Rs. 41.50 crores nett. Although generally it is a good sign for Bachchhan Paandey to have the same Box Office collection as Monday (it minted Rs. 3.50 crores on day 5), the problem here is that it is an Akshay Kumar film and despite that, it is earning in single digits. At this point, thus, a 20% hike doesn’t do much for the film either.
Here's Bachchhan Paandey Box Office collection till date:
Friday – Rs. 12.25 crores
Saturday – Rs. 11 crores
Sunday – Rs. 11.50 crores
Monday – Rs. 3.50 crores
Tuesday – Rs. 3.25 crores
Total – Rs. 41.50 crores
Bachchhan Paandey is expected to close at Rs. 47 crores by the end of the week. It is unlikely to touch Rs. 50 crores unless the audiences decide they no longer want to watch The Kashmir Files and would rather sit through Bachchhan Paandey, which has not been the case so far.
The movie is working in metropolitan cities like Mumbai, Delhi-NCR and Kolkata. However, the Box Office collection even there is just average.
By Friday, Bachchhan Paandey will lose more screens to SS Rajamouli’s RRR. The movie, starring Ram Charan and Jr. NTR in the lead roles is one of the most-awaited pan-Indian films. The recent success of Allu Arjun’s Pushpa, especially, has shown that the market for South Indian films is just as much as any big-budget Bollywood film and sometimes even more.
Despite what it looks like, Bachchhan Paandey is not completely in loss. The makers have recovered the money from the budget of the film through satellite, digital and music rights.
