Akshay Kumar is set to be back on the big screen in just a few weeks. The superstar is gearing up for the release of Bachchhan Paandey, in which he plays the titular role. Ahead of the trailer release, Akshay took to his social media pages and shared a brand-new poster from the film. The actor sports a menacing look in the poster with a glass eye and a bandana tied around his forehead.

While sharing the poster, Akshay penned an interesting caption which read, "This is one character that has more shades than a paint shop! #BachchhanPaandey aapko daraane, hasaane, rulaane sab ke liye ready hai. Please give him all your love. "

The trailer for Bachchhan Paandey will be out on February 18, 2022.

Bachchhan Paandey is directed by Farhad Samji and features Jacqueline Fernandez and Kriti Sanon as female leads. While Arshad Warsi, Pankaj Tripathi, and Prateik Babbar star in supporting roles,

Bachchhan Paandey is reportedly an official remake of Karthik Subbaraj's Tamil film Jigarthanda, which he wrote and directed.

Talking about the same, a source told Pinkvila that Kriti Sanon's character has reportedly been modified from the original Tamil film, Jigarthanda. The film narrates the narrative of Karthik, an ambitious director who gets a chance to make a film on gangsterism and meets Gangster Assault Sethu, who wants to have his life story told on the big screen, and what happens when they meet in the Tamil version. However, in Farhad Samji's version, Karthik's character as an aspiring filmmaker would be played by Kriti Sanon rather than a male actor, due to a script alteration.

The film is produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and is set to hit the big screens during the Holi weekend, that is, March 18, 2022.

Soon after the theatrical run, Bachchhan Paandey will premiere on Amazon Prime Video.
