Aadi Saikumar, who was in the news this week for his first look in Crazy Fellow, is awaiting the release of Black on May 28. The action thriller, written and directed by Puri Jagannadh's former associate GB Krishna, has him playing a cop for the first time in his career. Darshana Banik is cast as the leading lady while the likes of Kaushal Manda, Aamani, Prudhviraj, Surya, Satyam Rajesh, Thagubothu Ramesh, Anand Chakrapani and others will be seen in supporting roles.
The film's trailer was launched in the presence of the cast, crew and actor Sai Kumar in Hyderabad today. The trailer opens with a line where Aadi talks about destiny's plans for him and later switches to his love interest, who claims to be a girl from the Y2K generation. Then, the story takes a dark turn with the entry of a bunch of goons, huge bags of money being exchanged, a character being murdered and the protagonist is committed to nabbing the mastermind behind the crime. Will he be successful in his pursuit? You'll know it next weekend.
Sai Kumar said that Aadi must feel blessed to release his film on the birthday of legendary Telugu actor NTR and is confident that Black will give him a major break in his career. Aadi reportedly accepted the film after the first narration and applauded the director for the way he conceived the idea. "Audiences are sure to be thrilled with Black. We worked hard during COVID times to come out with this. I am happy with the way the trailer has come out," Aadi shared.
Mahankali Diwakar is sure that audiences will turn up in huge numbers for both the films releasing next weekend - including F3 and Black. Director GB Krishna added that the interval episode will be the major highlight of Black, stating the story of the film is the real star. Suresh Bobbili has scored the music for the film cinematographed by Satish Muthyala and edited by Amar Reddy. K V Ramana is the art director.
