All social media pages have lit up with the trailer for 83. From fans to celebs, everyone is heaping praise on the Kabir Khan directorial, which is based on India's first win at the 1983 World Cup. The much-awaited sports drama features Ranveer Singh leading the Indian cricket team as Kapil Dev, and he is joined by his squad, which includes Tahir Raj Bhasin, Jiiva, Saqib Saleem, Jatin Sarna, Chirag Patil, Dinker Sharma, Nishant Dahiya, Harrdy Sandhu, Sahil Khattar, Ammy Virk, Adinath Kothare, Dhairya Karwa, and R Badree.

As the trailer was finally released on November 30, 2021, several celebs took to their social media pages and shared it on their feeds. Along with that, they lauded the makers and the actors for looking the part and making them take a trip down memory lane. 

Filmmaker Hansal Mehta tweeted, "What nostalgia and pride this World Cup victory still brings. And this trailer makes me want to watch the film now! What an eclectic ensemble of actors playing our heroes. Super @kabirkhankk # 83Trailer."

While Dia Mirza wrote, "Goosebumps @kabirkhankk @deepikapadukone @RanveerOfficial # Thisis83."

While Nikkhil Advani took to his Twitter page and compared Kabir to Kapil Dev, He tweeted, "@kabirkhankk is in as good form as #KapilDev brought tears to my eyes. This one is too special. #Thisis83 #JeetegaBhaiJeetegaIndiaJeetega."

83 is also being released in 3D format and in multiple languages, including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam. The film also features Pankaj Tripathi and Boman Irani in pivotal roles. 

Deepika Padukone features as Romi Bhatia Dev, and she has also co-produced the film under her home banner, KA Productions. 

83 is finally released on December 24, 2021, after a delay of nearly 20 months, owing to the COVID-19 pandemic across the globe. The film was also scheduled for a release in June 2020, but the second wave stopped the play.
