Bony Sengupta and Koushani Mukherjee-starrer Antarjal will be released on July 29. Directed by a newcomer Prarjun Majumder, the film is billed as a thriller. While Koushani plays the lead, Bony’s character is not an elaborate one. In a chat with OTTplay, the actor said that he has no problem in smaller roles in films that focus on stories and characters.

In Antarjal. Koushani plays a character of a writer, Lahari, whose husband Apurba, played by Bony, goes missing on their anniversary evening. It is a women-centric film and by the actor’s admission, it deals with a lot of issues, including domestic violence. “I play a small character here. When Prarjun came to me he said that it was a small character and much of Apurba is seen in the flashback. I clearly told him not to do anything forcefully to show me more on the screen,” said the actor. He also elaborated that it is not a hero-oriented film. It is a character-oriented film and he liked the script. “I have no problem working in a smaller role in a character-intensive film,” Bony told us.

Meanwhile, Bony and Koushani are also working on several films, including Shubho Bijoya, Dal Bati Churma, Rater Shohor and so on. In Shubho Bijoya, the duo will be seen along with Koushik and Churni Ganguly. Talking about the film, Bony said, “It is a gentle family film that features two couples. While Koushani and I are known to be actors in commercial films, Kaushikda and Churnidi are popular for their work in content-driven films. IN Shubho Bijoya, the makers are somewhat blending these two flavours,” he said. The film went to the floors on July 28.
