The Brahmastra trilogy is what cinema lovers from across the country had to discuss after the makers released the movie’s trailer. Director Ayan Mukerji, who is helming one of the biggest projects in India, said that the second and third instalments in the trilogy will introduce new characters.
Ayan Mukherji said, "We will plan the shooting of the second and third part after the release of the first film." Ayan Mukerji told Times of India. "The entire trilogy will tell the same story but the next movies will introduce new characters and bring new perspectives to the Brahmastra story."
The director also revealed that while started preparing for the movie, Ranbir joined Sanju and this made him angry even though he was happy that the actor got to work with Rajkumar Hirani. Mukerji then said that in hindsight, it ended up being a good decision because even as Sanju was ready for release, the pre-production of Brahmastra was not finished.
The magnum opus, which has been in the making for over nine years, tells the story of a young man who is introduced to a world where the astras from Hindu mythology exist and forces of good and evil fight over it.
Apart from Ranbir Kapoor, the movie also stars Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna, and Mouni Roy. A long list of A-listers such as Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone are rumoured to be a part of the movie franchise.
Bankrolled by Star Studios, Dharma Productions, Prime Focus and Starlight Pictures, the movie is set to hit theatres on September 9, 2022. The movie’s trailer, which was released on Wednesday, already has over 40 million views on YouTube.
