Numbers don't lie, and if that is true than Brahmastra has indeed broken Bollywood's dry spell at the box office.

Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt-starrer Brahmāstra Part One: Shiva has delivered a massive opening day of Rs. 75 cr, igniting celebrations across the country, the film Industry, theatre owners and audiences, with the weekend total expected to be huge!
The film had a grand opening day at the box office with 35-36 crore nett (all languages included), which is the highest opening day in history on a non holiday for original Hindi content, reports Box Office India. And the only other film to do more on a non-holiday was Bahubali - The Conclusion.
This movie is the only Indian film that has topped the weekend charts globally and is second to the Barbarian in some markets, reports BollywoodLife. In fact, Brahmastra has secured the top spots in countries such as Australia and New Zealand.
In IMAX, Brahmastra, which is a visual spectacle in terms of its VFX work, had the biggest single day collection ever seen by a Bollywood film, with theatre chain PVR Cinemas increasing Brahmastra's total number of shows starting in the morning, according to the same BollywoodLife report.
In the Southern part of the country, Brahmastra had the biggest single day collection by a Hindi Bollywood movie, especially in states such as Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka and Kerala.
Brahmastra has South Indian megastar Nagarjuna playing the character of Dr. Anish Shetty, with the film also receiving help in terms of promotions in the Southern regions that saw filmmaker SS Rajamouli and Jr. NTR being present for various events related to the film. Because the film was promoted so well in these regions, Brahmastra has made highest single day record and opening day for a Hindi movie dubbed in Telugu. It has made Rs 8.5 crores so far, according to BollywoodLife.
Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Ayan Mukerji got acceptance from Kannada-speaking regions too. It has made Rs 3.8 crores on Day One in Mysore. This number, for the record, is the biggest opening weekend and biggest single day collection for a Bollywood movie in Karnataka region.
After the horror movie Barbarian, Brahmastra is the second-highest grossing movie in the global markets. In the weekend, Brahmastra made over Rs 36 crores at the box office and has reportedly crossed the previous the collections of other Bollywood movies such as WAR, Uri, The Kashmir Files and other films.
Brahmastra brings in surpisingly high numbers in Tamil Nadu, too. It has got the biggest single day collections for a Hindi movie. It has the biggest opening weekend for a Hindi film that any Bollywood film has ever enjoyed. If reports were to be believed, fans were seen whistling whenever Mouni Roy was on screen.
Brahmastra also happens to be the second Indian movie to top the box office in New Zealand. It has made more than six crores already, and counting.
The film has got the second-biggest opening at the box office by a Bollywood movie released in different languages. Globally, it enjoys the fourth-highest position in terms of opening weekend for a Bollywood film.
Overall, Brahmastra made over 75 crore gross worldwide just from its Day One collections. In fact, this is Ranbir Kapoor's biggest opening after Sanju. And, this is Alia Bhatt's biggest opening, too.
Needless to say, Brahmastra has made it to the 100 crore-plus mark by a Bollywood film in the first week of its release itself.
