Benedict Bridgerton fans, this might disappoint you. We know that Benedict (Luke Thompson) has been winning hearts on the Netflix show, Bridgerton but there are reports suggesting he will no longer be in the spotlight in Season 3 of the show.

Season two of the show was just released on the streaming platform, Netflix and fans are already speculating what is going to happen in the next set of new episodes. They are trying to figure out which Bridgerton will replace Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey) in the new season.

There are reports that suggest that Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) will be taking over the spotlight in the upcoming season. The show will likely deviate from the book order and take inspiration from the fourth book, Romancing Mister Bridgerton. It tells the story of Colin and Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan). Simone Ashley had earlier hinted at it. The leading lady told E! News that she is "super excited for the world to see Nicola and Luke rock it."

Bridgerton creator Chris Van Dusen also revealed to the portal that he too is looking forward to exploring the fourth book's plot. He also said they had worked a lot to set up Penelope and Colin's love story in the first two seasons of the show. "There's so much yearning and so much angst there that it's going to be really satisfying when the show gets to really focus on the two of them," he had said.

But it is still unclear how closely will the next season follow the story of the book, written by Julia Quinn. Luke Newton said he is excited to explore his love story someday but he added that he had no idea what their relationship in the future is like. "You never know what storylines are gonna overlap. So maybe, we have a shift in time. Obviously, this year, we had flashback stuff," he said.

Meanwhile, Season 2 of Bridgerton dropped on Netflix on March 25. Catch the show if you haven't already.
