Hrithik Roshan is gearing up to dust off his cape and embody India’s favourite superhero yet again. Fans have been patiently awaiting for updates from the upcoming sequel in the Krrish film series, Krrish 4. It was reported that director Rakesh Roshan has already begun work on the sequel’s script, which will take the story forward from where Krrish 3 ended.

According to a report in Pinkvilla, the fourth installment in the franchise will be a continuation of the third film, although it would be set in a new world. A source told the portal that fans can expect to see fresh characters and the story would feature a fair share of exciting twists.

Rakesh was currently working on the film’s story, focussing on the ‘crucial’ aspects of the same at the moment. The filmmaker has helmed all the films in the franchise, which includes Koi... Mil Gaya (2003), Krrish (2006) and Krrish 3 (2013). The latter two can be streamed on SonyLIV, while Koi... Mil Gaya is available on ZEE5.

After Rakesh finalises the script, the makers would delve into deciding the cast and ironing out other details. Calling it a ‘massive’ project, the source said that the makers were also planning on including some never before seen action sequences in the upcoming film as well.

Hrithik had officially announced Krrish 4 back in June last year, when Krrish clocked 16 years of its release. In an earlier conversation with TOI, Rakesh had said that he was awaiting for the pandemic to subside before starting work on the upcoming sequel, saying that he had planned something huge in store and did not want to come across any obstacles once he started the project.

Krrish 3 saw the titular superhero battle against the evil telekinetic scientist Kaal, and his mutant army. The film starred Hrithik, Priyanka Chopra, Kangana Ranaut and Vivek Oberoi in prominent roles.
