Buzz: Will Sara Ali Khan be paired opposite Ayushmann Khurrana in Dream Girl 2?

Ayushmann Khurrana will be soon seen in Dream Girl 2 but who is his leading lady? It was previously reported that Naagin star Tejasswi Prakash will romance him on screen. But now reports say that Sara Ali Khan is the likely choice.

Times of India states that the makers are looking for “feisty young girl” as the lead in the Raaj Shaandiliyaa directorial and Sara is the perfect choice.

The report further says that the makers have approached the actress and she’s yet to agree to board the cast. If she does join the project, it will mark her first collaboration with Ayushmann. TOI writes that they had another movie lined up together but that saw no progress.

Dream Girl 2 is set to go on the floors later this year. Raaj had told ETimes he is currently writing the script and that it will ‘take a little while’ for it to reach the completion stage.

Pinkvilla had previously reported that producer Ekta Kapoor along with Raaj and Ayushmann intend to turn Dream Girl into a full-blown franchise. The sequel, just like the original, is said to have a social message.

Dream Girl released in 2019, and saw Ayushmann play a man employed at a call centre who can mimic a woman’s voice perfectly. With just his voice, he garners a long list of admirers, each hoping to score a chance with this woman they loved to chat on the phone. Nushrratt Bharuccha Annu Kapoor Manjot Singh Vijay Raaz Abhishek Banerjee Raj Bhansali and Nidhi Bisht were also seen in pivotal roles. The movie is available on ZEE5.
