No music album for a Telugu film is complete without a folksy mass number that'll get you grooving. Though a few filmmakers, music directors consider it a commercial obligation, it has only brought more joy to film lovers and listeners over the years. Chetteki is that very number from Konda Polam that'll make you stop everything you do and want to shake a leg. Composed by MM Keeravani, the track brings together two fantastic singers - one young and another experienced - Kaala Bhairava and Shreya Ghoshal. The lyrical video of Chetteki was released today, a day ahead of the film's theatrical release.
This superb number promises to be a visual feast at the theatres. In what's likely to be a dream sequence, the song talks about the intimacy between its two lead characters, Kataru Ravindra Yadav and Obulamma, played by Vaisshnav Tej and Rakul Preet. The tricky aspect with folk numbers lies in understanding the thin line between being flirty and vulgar and Chandrabose is too good a lyricist to ignore that. Shot amidst colourful lights in the night in a space that exudes a festive vibe, Rakul Preet's moves are a delight to watch while Vaisshnav tries hard to match her energy.
Right from the costumes to the various props, elements that complete the visual backdrop, team Konda Polam has chosen bright, attractive colours that warrant instant attention from the viewer. The song, choreographed by Bhanu, is a perfect answer to all those who've been sceptical of Konda Polam's commercial appeal as a film. Directed by Krish Jagarlamudi, Konda Polam is cinematographed by VS Gnana Sekhar. Shravan Katikaneni has edited the film that also features Sai Chand, Nasser, Kota Srinivasa Rao, Ravi Prakash and others in pivotal roles.
