Chup Trailer: The Revenge of the Film Critic?

What happens when a film critic dons the screenwriter’s hat? Well, in case of Chup: Revenge Of The Artist, directed by filmmaker R. Balki and written by Raja Sen, we’ve got a serial killer who marks his victims with stars. The trailer shows Sunny Deol as a cop who is investigating a case of murders by a killer who gives his victims a “star rating”. Interspersed with scenes showing these brutal murders are romantic moments featuring Dulquer Salmaan romancing Shreya Dhanwanthary. It is not clear who they are in this story. 

Chup: Revenge Of The Artist is reportedly an homage to legendary filmmaker Guru Dutt and the soundtrack to the trailer includes some famous songs picturised on Dutt.  Sharing the trailer on his Instagram handle, Salmaan wrote, “Are y’all ready for this ?”. 

Co-Produced by Rakesh Jhunjhunwala, Anil Naidu, Dr Jayantilal Gada (PEN Studios) and Gauri Shinde, the original story, the screenplay and dialogues are by Balki. 

Chup: Revenge Of The Artist stars Salmaan, Pooja Bhatt, Deol and Dhanwanthary and will release on September 23.
