Hotstar Special political-thriller series, City of Dreams, is back with another season. The trailer of Atul Kulkarni and Priya Bapat’s show dropped on Wednesday. The series follows the clashes within the Gaikwad family due to political differences.

In the second season, feuds between the father-daughter duo for power and position will witness a lot of back-stabbing, double-crossing and bloodshed as evident from the trailer.

The trailer shows Priya’s character as the interim Chief Minister, who has only a few days left to prove that she’s eligible to fully take charge. She can be seen locking horns with her own father in order to fight against the patriarchy in politics. Atul as the former’s father can be seen conspiring against his daughter to take her down before she completely wins the favour of the party and the state.

The OTT streamer shared the trailer on Twitter with the caption, “With the throne at stake for the Gaikwads, will they stop at anything to gain it? #HotstarSpecials #CityOfDreams Season 2 streaming from 30th July.”

Atul retweeted the Disney+ Hotstar post as well. Talking about his role in the show to The Indian Express, Atul said that Ameya Rao Gaikwad is a special character to him. “There’s an almost sinister quality to him which makes his desire and resolve to hold a position of power stronger than his sense of family bonds. If the brother-sister battle for politics in season one was shrewd, then the father vs daughter tussle in season two is going to be doubly intense,” the actor added.

City of Dreams season 2 will debut on Disney+ Hotstar on July 30.
