Nayanthara's horror thriller Connect has finally hit screens today. The film, helmed by Ashwin Saravanan and bankrolled by Vignesh Shivan's production house, marks the comeback of Ashwin and Nayanthara after their last outing the neo noir horror thriller Maya (2015). The star cast also includes Sathyaraj, Vinay Rai, Haniya Nafis and Anupam Kher. The digital rights of the film have been bagged by Disney + Hotstar.

Vignesh Shivan had recently announced that the film will have interval block as the team wanted to experiment a bit and provide uninterrupted entertainment. Today, he shared on his social media handle, "Let’s #Connect from today in theatres near you. Kindly buy your Pop corn , snacks and use the restroom before the show timings to have an uninterrupted experience of what we have put together wit utmost sincerity & honesty to entertain you (sic)."

Filmmaker Ashwin Saravanan, too thanked the cinema halls screening the film and wrote, "Special thanks to @GKcinemas for screening #Connect without an intermission for 5 AM show today the audience experienced the film exactly the way it was intended (sic)."

Nayanthara along with Vignesh Shivan had also attended the FDFS of the show at two movie halls in Chennai. A special screening of the 99th film was also held recently, which was attended by a number of celebrities.

In the meantime, Twitter is buzzing with reactions to the latest Nayanthara outing. The reviews have been mixed, while some say that the movie is a regular fare with fantastic acting from Nayanthara, many others said that the film failed to provide the chills and thrills of Nayanthara's earlier outing Maya.

A Twitter user called Survi wrote, "Borrowing an idea from another movie is not bad but completely screwing it up is horrible. #Host [2020] made a better cyber-natural film with lesser resources and in Covid-19 times. Here #AshwinSaravanan was as dis-#Connect-ed as the entity from its reality and astral plane (sic)."

Check out some of the reactions.
