Darlings actor Roshan Mathew shares a heartfelt note following the success of the Alia Bhatt-starrer

Alia Bhatt’s Darlings released on Netflix last week and the black comedy drama has received favourable reactions from the fans. While a few people took to social media to boycott the movie, it has become a success on the streaming platform. Roshan Mathew, who plays an important role in the movie, has now taken to social media to share a heartfelt note. 

Roshan took to Instagram to share a number of photos from the movie’s set along with his co-stars. “Thank you for all the love you’ve shown #Darlings. It’s been absolutely overwhelming. Much love and hugs to our entire team, most of who are not in these photos (sorry!). And to the lovely people at @netflix_in for really putting this film out there,” he wrote in the post. 

The actor then thanked the audience for watching the movie and talking about it. He also pointed out that debates, opinions and discussions are going to help in the long run.

Darlings, which marks the directorial debut of Jasmeet K. Reen follows a woman who stands up to her abusive, alcoholic husband in a rather interesting way. Apart from Alia in the lead, the black comedy also stars Shefali Shah and Vijay Varma in important roles. 

“Darlings is a dialogue-heavy film with punch lines that will crack you up instantly. Reen and Sheikh, along with Vijay Maurya, wrote these dialogues in such a way that you will instantly believe them and recognise the underlying tone of sarcasm and wit,” read the movie’s review on OTTplay. 

The movie, which is backed by Red Chillies Entertainment and Eternal Sunshine Productions, is also Alia Bhatt’s debut as a producer. The movie is now available to stream on Netflix.
