Dheekshith Shetty, who made the transition from TV to the big screen two years ago with the KS Ashoka-directorial Dia, has had no looking back since then. The film, which also starred Pruthvi Ambaar and Kushee Ravi in lead roles, has worked wonders for all three of the actors. Dheekshith has been busy doing films in Kannada and Telugu.
The actor, who has the Kannada films Sheegrameva Kalyana Prapthirasthu, KTM and the Telugu movie Meet Cute in the pipeline, recently shot for a pivotal role in the Arjun Lewis directed Paramvah Spotlight production Strawberry, which has Sruthi Hariharan in the lead as a commercial sex worker.
And now, we hear that he has signed up for another film. This time around, Dheekshith will be a part of a sci-fi flick to be directed by debutant Srinidhi, a friend he has known since his days with a theatre troupe. The as-yet-untitled film, which pairs Dheekshith with newbie Mandara, is currently being shot in locations across Bengaluru.
The film, according to Dheekshith, revolves around the theatre concept, with the actor playing a production boy with a drama troupe. The role, he says, is content-heavy, allowing him ample scope for performance.
Meanwhile, Sheegrameva Kalyana Prapthirasthu will see the actor share screenspace with veteran actor Ramkumar, who makes a comeback with the Praveen Chennappa directorial. Dheekshith has as many as four looks in the film, to play a character from his teenage years to his mid 20s. The love story KTM will also see the actor in four shades, and pairs him with Sanjana Doss. His Telugu project Meet Cute is an anthology backed by actor Nani’s Wall Poster Cinema. Dheekshith is the lead in one of the five stories in the film, directed by Deepthi Ghanta, Nani’s sister.
