We had reported cricketer MS Dhoni was venturing into film production. Further, we had mentioned the yet-to-be-titled project was likely to feature Nayanthara in the lead. However, the official Instagram handle of Dhoni's production house refuted the claims.
Multiple reports said Dhoni had already roped in Sanjay, one of the closest aides of Superstar Rajinikanth; adding that it was Sanjay, who gave a tip-off to Dhoni that approaching Nayanthara for his debut film would augur well for him.
The post on Instagram read, "Dhoni entertainment is currently not working with anyone named Sanjay. We deny such hiring of any person and we request everyone to be cautioned of these fraud claims. However, our team is currently working on various exciting projects that we will be shortly sharing with you all. Stay tuned and watch this space for more."
Additionally, a report in IANS quoted, that the possibility of Dhoni playing a cameo role in the film was not ruled out. Nayanthara, who was seen last in Vignesh Shivn's Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal, alongside Vijay Sethupathi and Samantha Ruth Prabhu, has multiple projects lined up, in different stages of production; namely, O2, Connect, Gold, Godfather and Lion.

Gold, directed by Alphonse Puthren, will have Prithviraj and Ajmal Ameer playing pivotal roles.
