When three of the biggest Bollywood divas come together, one can expect nothing short of pure magic on the silver screen. Cinephiles are in for a treat soon enough, as Rhea Kapoor is all set to don the producer’s hat yet again. The producer recently announced that she is currently planning her upcoming project, which will feature none other than Kareena Kapoor, Tabu and Kriti Sanon.
The upcoming film is titled the crew, and will be based on the lives of women who work in the airline industry, whose lives of work and hustle are interrupted when they inadvertently find themselves caught in a web of lives.
The project, which Rhea and Ekta Kapoor are co-producing, marks the former’s first production venture since 2018’s Veere Di Wedding. The Crew also marks the first onscreen collaboration between Kareena, Kriti and Tabu. In a statement, Kareena said that Veere Di Wedding held a special place in her heart and she had had an incredible time working on the 2018 film with Rhea and Ekta. So the actress was quite intrigued when Rhea approached her with the script for The Crew. She also expressed her excitement to work with Kriti and Tabu as well, saying “I am looking forward to starting this project and can't wait to bring this trifecta to the fold!”.
Tabu echoed her co-star’s sentiments, showering praise on Ekta, Rhea, Kriti and Kareena. “With all the madness, joy, highs and the lows of the characters ,it’s going to be a roller coaster and I’m looking forward to the ride!”, she said.
Kriti spoke of how the upcoming film had strong characters and a unique story. Talking about how much she admired and looked up to Kareena and Tabu. She also had nothing but good things to say of Rhea and Ekta, calling them ‘phenomenal, strong producers’.
The Crew will be directed by Rajesh Krishnan and produced under the banners of Balaji Motion Pictures Limited & Anil Kapoor Productions. The film is scheduled to go on floors by February next year.
