Dulquer Salmaan’s much-awaited film Salute, which is directed by Rosshan Andrrews, wrapped up filming on Monday in Hyderabad. The filmmaker shared the news on his social media along with a photo of the crew.
The movie, which will have Dulquer playing a full-length cop role for the first time in his career, is scripted by Bobby and Sanjay and is produced by the star. Salute began filming early this year and Dulquer had wrapped up his portions by April.
Dulquer plays Aravind Karunakaran in the movie, which also marks the Mollywood debut of Bollywood actress Diana Penty. The film also has Manoj K Jayan, Saniya Iyappan, Lakshmi Gopalaswamy and Saikumar in pivotal roles.
Bobby-Sanjay duo and Rosshan had earlier teamed up for hit movies such as Mumbai Police, How Old Are You? and Kayamkulam Kochunni. This thriller marks their third film centred on cops after Mumbai Police and School Bus.
Earlier this week, Rosshan had shared a post of how it’s been 17 years since his Mollywood debut, while sharing a photo of him visiting Ramoji Film City, where he had shot his debut film Udayananu Tharam and the final portions of Salute.
In April, after Dulquer had wrapped up his portions of the film, Rosshan was all praise for the artiste. “I can’t thank you enough for elevating Aravind Karunakaran far beyond what we had conceived. Every gesture and mannerism you put in to make Aravind Karunakaran what he is, stays alive in my mind to the point of missing him even as I write this,” he wrote.
Meanwhile, Dulquer also has also finished shooting for his big budget Malayalam film Kurup, which is awaiting release, the Tamil movie Hey Senamika and is currently working on his Telugu movie, Yuddham Tho Rasina Prema Katha.
