The first song from Pathaan featuring Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone, Besharam Rang, has courted controversy ever since it was released. Dr. Narottam Mishra, a Madhya Pradesh minister, lashed out at the song's use of saffron costumes. Additionally, he said that Pathaan has some offensive scenes and threatened to have it banned in Madhya Pradesh if they are not changed. Following this, several politicians made similar statements. Jabalpur has now been touched by this controversy's fire. The shooting of a Shah Rukh Khan movie near the popular tourist spot of Bhedaghat was hotly opposed by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad and the Bajrang Dal.

Protesters reportedly disrupted with the shooting of Shah Rukh Khan's Dunki in Jabalpur. The film's big stars, including SRK, were not present at the shoot. Three days of the movie's filming have been spent in Bhedaghat and Dhuandhar, two well-known tourist destinations in Jabalpur. In the meantime, King Khan's body double was present during the shoot. As soon as they learned that the film was being shot, activists from the Hinduist groups Bajrang Dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishad reached Bhedaghat to demonstrate against the movie.

Meanwhile, the police attempted to disperse the protesters by barricading themselves off from the scene of the incident. Police drove the enraged activists away from the barricades with great force. At the protest site, they could be seen chanting the Hanuman Chalisa and raising slogans for hours. According to CSP Priyanka Shukla, the film is being shot in Bhedaghat with the collector's statutory approval.

Bajrang Dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishad have also sent a letter of protest to the Tehsildar regarding the shooting. They had discussed holding a nonviolent demonstration at Bhedaghat. According to the organisation, no actor who disparages saffron will be permitted to film on the "Tapobhoomi of Narmada coast."

Pathaan is produced by Yash Raj Films and is directed by Siddharth Anand. The film is set for January 25, 2023 release. Dunki, on the other hand is directed by Rajkumar Hirani and stars Taapsee Pannu as the female lead.
