The makers of Engga Hostel, the Tamil version of the popular Hostel Daze series in Hindi, unveiled its trailer a few days ago. The two-minute promo video encapsulates its plot and introduces us to some of its characters. The series helmed by Sathish Chandrasekaran is touted as a campus drama which touches upon the lives of a few engineering students.
Sacchin Nachiappan, Avinaash Ramesh, Samyuktha Viswanathan, Saranya Ravichandran, Dravid Selvam and Goutham Raj play important roles in the movie which has music composed by Anil. Balaji K Raja and G Madan have handled cinematography and editing respectively for the film.
Going by the promo video, Engga Hostel is expected to delve deep into the lives of six engineering students who reside in a hostel in Chennai. All of them possess varied characters and have different ambitions and struggles. How they spend their lives in their respective hostels and face several issues in a bold manner form the crux of the story.
According to the makers, they have focused more on elements like friendship, mood swings and romance between the characters. Movie buffs are curious to know if the film would be as popular as its Hindi version.
Engga Hostel will drop on Amazon Prime Video on January 27. Nikhil Vaddiboina and Saraswati Menon are creative producers of the project while Vijay Koshy and Shreyansh Pandey are its executive producers.
Arunabh Kumar has bankrolled the movie which has Avinaash Hariharan and Arabbhi Athreya as its supervising producers. SK and Rajesh Mukkath have handled art direction and sound designing respectively for Engga Hostel.
