Etharkkum Thunindhavan release date: Is the upcoming Suriya starrer releasing on December 17?

The upcoming Suriya and Priyanka Arul Mohan starrer, Etharkkum Thunindhavan has been making waves since the date of its announcement. The release date for the rural entertainer is not officially out, although news on the grapevine mentions that it will be coming out on December 17.

An ETimes report suggests that the Suriya starrer, Etharkkum Thunindhavan was touted to release on December 24 on the eve of Christmas. This time, it has been preponed to December 17, a week earlier, according to media buzz.

Etharkkum Thunindhavan is said to be inspired by real-life incidents and is said to contain a strong social message. Helmed by Pandiraj, the upcoming rural entertainer marks the second collaboration of the director and the Soorarai Pottru star.

The movie is backed by Sun Pictures that is also set to release a number of commercial entertainers like Rajinikanth’s Annaatthe, Vijay’s Beast and Dhanush’s Thiruchitrambalam among others.

Talking about Etharkkum Thunindhavan, the team earlier flew to Goa to shoot a song. They are shooting a few sequences in Chennai. The wrap up of the movie is expected to happen soon once the filming for the songs is complete. If things go well, we can expect its theatrical release in the month of December.

Talking about Priyanka Arul Mohan, she is recently getting lauded for her performance in the well-acclaimed Sivakarthikeyan dark comedy outing, Doctor. It is currently running on big screens with a 50 per cent occupancy. She will also be starring in the next entertainer of Sivakarthikeyan, Don.

Suriya, on the other hand, has the upcoming legal drama Jai Bhim, which is all set for its release on Amazon Prime Video on November 2. Its first single titled Power is currently streaming on the net with a number of views and is being listened to by fans on a loop.
