Ashok Selvan, who was last seen in Sila Nerangalil Sila Manidhargal, will next be seen in Venkat Prabhu's Manmatha Leelai, which will release in theaters on April 1.Riya Suman, Samyuktha Hegde and Smruthi Venkat will be seen playing female leads in the movie which has music composed by Premgi Amaren. According to Ashok, the actor-turned-composer's music will be one of the highlights of the film.

He said, "We all know how talented a composer he is. One of the reasons the project's trailer was immediately lapped up by film buffs is because of its impressive music. The movie doesn't have any songs, though. He has given his best in re-recording. I'm sure Manmatha Leelai will help him bag many offers as a music director."

From the beginning of his career, Ashok has been someone who surprises audiences with the choice of his films. When quizzed if he has plans to eventually build a star image, he said, "I never had any strategy when it comes to choosing projects. Had I followed plans to build stardom, I should have done a thriller or an action movie after the success of Oh My Kadavule. Similarly, after a film like Sila Nerangalil Sila Manidhargal, I wouldn't have chosen Manmatha Leelai."

But Ashok added that he might choose movies based on a different criteria in the future owing to commercial pressure if needed. "I am not keen on chasing stardom, but at the same time, I'm not averse to it. For now, I want to experiment with multiple characters in different languages. I have done films in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam. I will be glad to do a movie in Bollywood as well if an interesting offer comes my way," he said.
