Tyler Rake is gearing up for a comeback, ready for another gruelling adventure. The first look images from Extraction 2 were unveiled recently, giving a glimpse into where the mercenary's mission takes him next.
The photographs were released by the film’s lead star Chris Hemsworth, who will reprise his role from the original 2020 film. The Australian actor took to Instagram to give audiences a glimpse of the upcoming film. One of the photographs show him in character as Rake, atop a kind of military rig, his face dotted with cuts.
The second photo features a BTS look where the actor is all smiles with director Sam Hargrave. The photos are set against a snow clad backdrop with snowflakes falling. In the caption the star mentioned how they had wrapped up the second week of filming.
Earlier this month, Hemsworth had announced that the filming had started in Prague.
The 2020 film told the tale of a hardened mercenary who is tasked with rescuing the kidnapped son of an Indian drug lord from Bangladesh.
In addition to Hemsworth, the film also starred Rudhraksh Jaiswal, Randeep Hooda, Golshifteh Farahani, Pankaj Tripathi and David Harbour. The movie was based on Ande Parks’ graphic novel titled, Ciudad.
Extraction is available for streaming on Netflix.
Hargrave returns to direct the upcoming sequel, which also has Joe Russo as writer. A release date for the sequel is yet to be announced.
