Director Lokesh Kangaraj and team announced that the shoot of the much-awaited action-thriller Vikram, starring Kamal Haasan, Vijay Sethupathi and Fahadh Faasil, wrapped up, in explosive fashion.

The Master filmmaker shared a video of Fahadh wielding a gun and firing away, only to be informed by the director that the ‘shooting’ is done. Narain, Fahadh, Lokesh and others from the crew then shout out loud that, “it’s a wrap”, with the Malayalam star unloading a few more bullets from his prop gun.

Lokesh took to Twitter to inform the fans that the film completed its shoot in 110 days and thanked the entire cast and crew for the “extraordinary effort” they had put in to see the shoot of the film through, during the pandemic.

The movie went on floors in July last year. Kamal Haasan had tested positive for COVID-19 last year and this forced the makers to delay its final schedule, which was initially set to begin in November. The final schedule wrapped up earlier this month, with the superstar and Sethupathi wrapping up their portions. Fahadh, who was in Dubai, also flew down to Chennai to finish the patchwork portions.

Vikram is currently scheduled for a March end release. The movie also has a stellar supporting cast featuring Shivani Narayanan, Shanvi Srivastava, Narain, Arjun Das, Kalidas Jayaram, Hareesh Peradi and Chemban Vinod Jose.

The film’s music is by Anirudh Ravichander and if rumours are to be believed the filmmaker is planning a sequel of the film too, depending on its success. This will mark the first collaboration between Kamal Haasan, Sethupathi and Fahadh – the latter two too witnessing a huge surge in their popularity in the past five years.

Vikram will also be Fahadh’s second consecutive big release outside Malayalam. He played the antagonist in Allu Arjun’s Pushpa: The Rise last year and is scheduled to have a bigger role in the second instalment of the Telugu blockbuster.
