Brahmastra seemed to take the silver screen by storm. Its visual grandeur and stellar lead cast aside, fans were also blown away by Shah Rukh Khan’s memorable cameo in the film. The actor essayed the role of a scientist who wields the Vanarastra. The cameo certainly made quite an impact on fans, who could not get enough of seeing the superstar in the awe inspiring avatar. Fans were so delighted with SRK’s special appearance that they wanted the next Brahmastra film to be centred around the character. In fact, some die hard fans even started a petition requesting the makers to do so.
The petition was started by a user named RMC+, and it read “I request Dharma Productions and director Ayan Mukerji to make a spin-off of Bhrahmastra featuring Mohan Bhargav, played by Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan”.The petition garnered over 1100 signatures over the course of two days. Sharing the petition on Twitter, a user wrote “Unbelievable... #SRK fans start a petition for a full #AstraVerse film with him !!! As a fan i have signed...request all SRK fans to do as well !”
Brahmāstra: Part One – Shiva is intended to be the first instalment in Mukerji’s planned cinematic universe, dubbed the Astraverse. The first part features Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan, Mouni Roy and Nagarjuna Akkineni in pivotal roles. Part of the review of the film on OTTplay reads “Ayan Mukerji's labour of love has a light at the end of the day and sets a perfect foundation for the trilogy it was intended to be. The film has set a new benchmark in terms of VFX in Indian cinema and the storyline”.
Brahmāstra: Part One – Shiva, produced under the banner of Star Studios and Dharma Productions, was released in theatres on September 9. The film can be watched in Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, Tamil and Malayalam.
