It has been almost 8 years since Farah Khan was last seen in the director’s chair. Although the filmmaker has had several memorable hits to her name like Main Hoon Na and Om Shanti Om, Farah has also helmed films which have failed to impress audiences and critics. One of her films which failed to hit the mark with viewers was Tees Maar Khan. The filmmaker recently opened up about how she was affected by criticisms directed at the film.
In conversation with ETimes, Farah spoke of how people had ‘ripped apart’ the film. Even though the film had done good commercially, people had said a lot of things about it, revealed Farah. Farah had also handled the choreography for the song Sheila Ki Jawani, and the song had become widely popular, earning numerous accolades. “After Tees Maar Khan, I didn’t want to step out, even though I was winning an award for the choreography of Sheila Ki Jawani”, she said.
Calling herself a ‘fighter and a survivor’, Farah spoke of how she grew older and wiser with time, through the highs and lows of her career. She said that a lot of things had changed with time and she had come to the realisation that all that was hers would make its way to her. The filmmaker revealed that she did not feel ‘insecure’ anymore. Speaking about how she used to hate feeling that way, Farah said she feels grateful for the opportunities she had had in her career and did not regret anything.
Tees Maar Khan was one of Farah’s only films which did not feature Shah Rukh Khan. The film starred Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif and Akshaye Khanna in lead roles and featured special performances by Salman Khan and Anil Kapoor. Shirish Kunder and Ashmith Kunder have written the film’s script.
