Prepare to see Rohit Shetty and Farhan Akhtar collaborate on a single frame as Mission Frontline, a discovery+ show, will feature the two soon. In the action-packed episodes, Farhan and Rohit will spend a day in Srinagar with the Rashtriya Rifle troops and the J&K Police's Special Operations Group, respectively.
As per IANS, Farhan shared his experience by saying that it would be humbling for him if he could convey the feeling in one word. The actor-filmmaker revealed that they got up close and personal with the lives of the Jawans when filming Lakshya, but that stepping into their shoes and seeing the challenges they face on the ground was a life-changing event. It was exceedingly difficult for Farhan to train in such challenging terrain and weather, but with their help and encouragement, he was able to do so.
Rohit, too, spoke openly about the show. The director shared that it is an event that he can't even begin to describe in words. People typically identify him with action, but these police officers exemplify "real action" for him. Given the high-tension environment, leaving for duty every morning and praying that your family is safe by the time you return takes a lot of guts, and that unwavering spirit moved the filmmaker.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Farhan is finally returning to direction after a decade. He is helming a female-led film titled Jee Le Zara, featuring Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Katrina Kaif, and Alia Bhatt in the lead roles. His last film as an actor was Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's Toofaan, which is streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
Talking about Rohit, after Sooryavanshi, his next directorial is Cirkus, starring Ranveer Singh, Jacqueline Fernandez, Pooja Hegde, and Varun Sharma in the lead roles.
Mission Frontline is set to stream on January 20, 2022.
