Freddy: Even after the huge success of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, Kartik Aaryan's next struggles for OTT release

Even after such a huge success of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, Kartik Aaryan's next is struggling for an OTT release. Similarly to his Netflix Film Dhamaka which was released in 2021, the upcoming romantic-thriller movie was decided to have a digital premiere by the makers.

According to a report on Bollywood Life, a source has revealed to the portal that, unlike Dhamaka, Freddy, which also stars Alaya F, is finding it tough to secure any buyers on a big, reputed OTT platform. Apparently, the makers have approached multiple OTT platforms, but none seem curious about the movie, due to its subject matter and treatment, which is reportedly dissuading the film from fetching its asking price, even though said digital streamers are tempted to bet on Kartik's name and stardom.

If the situation remains the same, then the Shashank Ghosh directorial will takes its route to a theatrical release. However, the official statement by the makers is yet-to-be out.

Freddy, which has been written by Parveez Sheikh and Aseem Arrora, also features Jeniffer Piccinato and Tripti Agarwal in key roles.

The shoot of Freddy has already been completed, while Kartik is currently busy working on Shehzada, which has been adapted from the Alu Arjun, Pooja Hegde and Tabu starrer 2020 Telugu film, Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo. The Rohit Dhawan directorial follows the tale of a young man who is an heir to one of the most affluent families but gets exchanged in hospital at birth and leads to living an average life until he finds out about his real family. The upcoming action-drama movie also has Kriti Sanon in a pivotal role.

Apart from that, the Pyaar Ka Punchnama actor is also busy filming Satyanarayan Ki Katha and Kabir Khan's untitled next.
