Hey there! the podcast that brings you up to speed with lesser-known facts, anecdotes, trivia and a whole lot more about your favourite movies and shows. This is OTTplay Now You Know and I am your host Nikhil.

David Crane and Marta Kauffman’s ten-season-long Friends is arguably the cultural phenomenon of the late 20th century. The show made overnight stars out of Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer, who played friends navigating their contentious twenties and thirties in Manhattan. So here’s a look at what you may have not known about these Central Perk regulars.

You cannot imagine Friends without the iconic The Rembrandts song I’ll be there for you. But do you know none of the primary cast members were fond of it? Jennifer Aniston even went on record to say that they agreed to do the song only because they were “told to.”

Hank Azaria initially auditioned for the role of Joey but was rejected, not once, but twice. He was later cast as David, who is torn between his love for Phoebe and his work at Minsk.

One cannot imagine Phoebe without her guitar or Smelly Cat. But actress Lisa Kudrow wasn’t too keen on the stringed instrument and suggested if her character could get to play the bongos instead. Needless to say, Kudrow’s reservations about the guitar did not stick for long.

Ross’ favourite capuchin monkey Marcel was played by a pair of monkeys named Katie and Monkey, who also starred in Bruce Almighty and 30 Rock

Well, that's some unknown facts , trivia about your favorite show Friends, I shall be back again with another episode with a new film or show , until then its me Nikhil signing off for now,
