Ace Ventura producers sue Tiger King
The makers of the popular Netflix documentary series Tiger King have landed in hot water. Morgan Creek Productions, the makers of Jim Carrey’s Ace Ventura 2, has sued the producers of the show for using unauthorised clips from the film.
Don’t Look Up gets new podcast series
The new Netflix original film Don’t Look Up, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Lawrence, Timothée Chalamet, and Meryl Streep is set to have its own podcast series. The new podcast is titled The Last Movie Ever Made and will focus on the behind-the-scenes of director Adam McKay’s sci-fi thriller.
Brazen to release on Netflix in January
Brazen, a feature film adaptation of Nora Roberts’ 1988 novel Brazen Virtue, is heading to Netflix. The film, directed by Monika Mitchell from a script penned by Edithe Swensen, Donald Martin and Suzette Couture, will premiere on the streaming platform on January 19 next year. The film stars Alyssa Milano as mystery novelist Grace Miller whose life takes a gruesome turn when her stories play out in real life and her sister is found murdered.
Nikhil Dwivedi to produce a biopic on Rajesh Khanna
Nikhil Dwivedi is backing a biopic on Rajesh Khanna, which will be based on the Dark Star: The Loneliness of Being Rajesh Khanna, written by film historian and writer Gautam Chintamani. He has already bagged the rights to the book. As per reports, Farah Khan will take on the directorial duties for the film.
Kesu Ee Veedinte Nadhan to premiere on Disney+ Hotstar in December
Dileep and Nadirshah’s upcoming movie Kesu Ee Veedinte Nadhan is all set to premiere on Disney+ Hotstar on December 31, 2021, as part of the streaming service’s New Year release. This is the second Malayalam movie to have a direct-to-OTT release on the streaming platform after Nivin Pauly’s Kanakam Kaamini Kalaham. Also starring Urvashi, Anusree, Vaishnavi, Naslen and Ganapathi, the film features Dileep as a sexagenarian driving instructor who suffers from insecurities surrounding his age.
Harry Potter reunion special will see Daniel Radcliffe talk about growing out his hair
Harry Potter fans are waiting with bated breath for the cast of the movie to reunite in HBO’s highly anticipated special Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts, which will debut on January 1. The special will see Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, Tom Felton, Matthew Lewis, Evanna Lynch, Bonnie Wright, James and Oliver Phelps, Helena Bonham Carter, Robbie Coltrane, Ralph Fiennes, Jason Isaacs, and Gary Oldman will share a couch and reminisce on their decade-long journey with the iconic characters, discuss being part of a cultural zeitgeist, and share anecdotes about their experience. Among other things, Radcliffe will talk about despising having to grow out his hair for the later films.
