This is Sizzling Samachar of the day exclusive on OTTplay, i'm your host Nikhil

Samachar first up,

Fawad Khan

Actor Fawad Khan had confirmed reports that he is set to appear in the highly anticipated Disiney+ Marvel series, Ms Marvel. The series will focus on Pakistani-American teenager Kamala Khan, played by Iman Vellani, who is blessed with new-found super powers, including shapeshifting and superhuman strength.

Soubin Shahir

Actor Shoubin Shahir is set to take the director’s chair yet again after wrapping up the Dulquer Salmaan starrer, Othiram Kadakkam. The new film will have Mammootty in the lead and is set in the local suburbs of Kerala incorporated with modern themes. Shahir also added that the film will not be a ‘mass entertainer’.

Obi-Wan Kenobi

In a pleasantly surprising move, Lucasfilm has reportedly taken in die hard Star Wars fans to play extras in their upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi series. Pen 15 actor Maya Erskine spoke about this in a recent Variety podcast saying, “The extras were incredible on the set, and a lot of them were mega Star Wars fans. One guy [was] so nice and he lifted up his sleeves and had tattoos over his whole body.”

This new series charts the events that occurred in the years between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope. Except for this fact, other details are presently being kept under wraps.

Empire of Light

Colin Firth, Toby Jones, Crystal Clarke, and Tanya Moodie have joined Olivia Colman and Micheal Ward in Sam Mendes’ upcoming directorial titled Empire of Light. The film, also written and produced by Mendes, will be his first project after the success of his 2019 war drama 1917. Not much is known about the plot of Empire of Light, except that it is a story set in 1980s England with a movie theatre at its centre.

Death on the Nile

A new trailer of Death on the Nile, Kenneth Branagh’s upcoming adaptation of Agatha Christie’s classic novel of the same name, has finally dropped and prominently features scenes of actor Armie Hammer, who is currently facing allegations of sexual abuse. The film, also starring Branagh, Gal Gadot, Tom Bateman and Letitia Wright, will release in theatres next year on Valentine’s Day. It has been described as a “daring mystery-thriller about the emotional chaos and deadly consequences triggered by obsessive love.”

Alright ,that's the Sizzling Samachar for today on OTTplay, I shall be back again with more news from the movie and entertainment world. This is your host Nikhil signing out.
