James Gunn is at work on a new Superman script

It’s a bittersweet moment for DC fans. The news of Henry Cavill’s departure as Superman has hit the fandom hard. But, that doesn't put an end to Superman movies. James Gunn has announced that he is working on an entirely new direction for the next project which will follow a younger version of the character. Minding the importance of Superman’s character to the studio, Gunn is penning the script himself. Most details of this project are being kept under wraps.

Dreamworks is set to produce a Winnie the Pooh prequel

DreamWorks is trying to get the copyrights of the famous Disney character, Winnie the Pooh. They are trying to introduce the beloved “honey-loving” character in a new sphere with a prequel feature film. The character was originally written by English author A. A. Milne and later adapted into films by Walt Disney Productions. Another version of the children’s series is at work with Madagascar fame Mike de Seve serving as the director. The movie is set to release sometime in 2024 and will be followed by a TV series.

Tyler Perry’s next project is a WWII Drama About an All-Black Female Battalion

Well-known filmmaker Tyler Perry is working on a new project with Netflix after the success of A Madea Homecoming. His next project is a World War II film Six Triple Eight with an all-black, all-female battalion. These women are given the daunting task of delivering mail in a war zone. The film is based on an article by Kevin M. Hymel about the true story of the 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion. This battalion comprised 855 Black women who initially joined the war effort with no knowledge of what was to come their way.

Netflix renews Young Royals for the third and final season

There’s no doubt that Netflix’s Young Royals has garnered a lot of fans since its release back in 2021. The positive LGBTQ+ relationship representation and genuine relatability made it popular with the younger crowd. New reports claim the series is being renewed for a third season which will, unfortunately, be the final season. The news came ahead of Omar Rudberg and Edvin Rydin’s appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. They play Prince Wilhelm and Simon Eriksson respectively who study at a fictional elite boarding school, Hillerska.

Prime Video is set to produce a God of War Live-Action Series

Prime Video has made a deal with Sony Pictures Television and PlayStation Productions and made an official order for a God of War live-action series. Based on the wildly popular 2018 game, The God of War, the series revolves around the video game character Kratos, the famous Greek God of War. The God of War game has enjoyed immense success with over 52 million copies sold. The latest sequel in the offering is the 2022 version, God of War: Ragnarok which was a top contender in several “Game of the Year” lists.

Nicole Maines returning as Dreamer for The Flash’s final season

The character of Dreamer really shined in the Supergirl series. With the series getting discontinued, Nicole Maines's return as Dreamer seemed like a lost cause. Nevertheless, Maines will be reprising her role for The Flash's final season. Maines made her superhero debut in Supergirl's fourth season with the character Nia Nal's introduction. She made history by becoming the first trans superhero on television. She will be joined by Javicia Leslie as Red Death for the final season of The Flash.

Rajamouli’s RRR gets nominated for 5 Critics Choice Awards

S. S. Rajamouli’s RRR is on the roll right now. With two Golden Globe nominations already announced earlier this week, hitherto the movie has been nominated for the 28th annual Critics Choice Awards. The Los Angeles-based Critics Choice Association announced the nominations on their official website. RRR has received five nominations comprising Best Picture, Best Director, Best Foreign Language Film, Best Visual Effects and lastly Best Song for the Telugu track "Naatu Naatu".
