Star Trek star Jeri Ryan joins the second season of Dark Winds

After the success of Star Trek: Picard, Jeri Ryan is joining the cast of AMC's psychological thriller show Dark Winds. Based on the late Tony Hillerman's novel series Leaphorn & Chee, the series has been renewed for a second season which is set to release later this year. The series was among the few that survived major cancellations by AMC. Nicholas Logan from Dopesick is also set to join the second season.

FX’s Mayans M.C is coming to an end

One of the most popular drama shows on FX, Mayans M.C. is ending after its fifth season. FX chairman John Landgraf revealed this news at the Television Critics Association’s 2023 Winter Press Tour. The Sons of Anarchy spin-off series follows a former convict who is trying to adjust to a normal life in Santo Padre but ends up being a member of the Mayans Motorcycle Club.

Noah Hawley’s Alien series is in pre-production

Several new announcements were made during Television Critics Association 2023, and one of them was particularly significant for the fans of the Alien franchise. During the FX’s panel, it was revealed that the script for the prequel series is locked in and the show is in active pre-production. Showrunner Noah Hawley is working on the production while also working on the fifth season of Fargo. The director of the first Alien film, Ridley Scott, is serving as the producer for the show.

Criminal Minds: Evolution is renewed for its second season

Criminal Minds: Evolution is coming back with a second season, owing to the popularity of the first season. The show made it to Paramount’s top five original series with an increase in viewership every month. Production for the newly ordered season will commence this year.

Alison Brie is caught in a love triangle in the upcoming movie Somebody I Used to Know

Prime Video just released the trailer for the upcoming film Somebody I Used to Know. The film is a follow-up to Dave Franco’s directorial debut The Rental. The film stars his real-life wife Alison Brie along with Jay Ellis and Kiersey Clemons. The film follows Brie as a workaholic TV producer who bumps into her first love, Sean and ends up having a whirlwind evening. This leads to her rethinking her life and attempts to rekindle her old relationship.

Reese Witherspoon and Ashton Kutcher will swap homes in the Netflix film Your Place or Mine

Reese Witherspoon and Ashton Kutcher will be next seen in Netflix’s rom-com Your Place or Mine. The film is written and directed by Aline Brosh McKenna, the American screenwriter who is known for the films The Devil Wears Prada and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. The film follows two individuals who first met 20 years ago after a one-night stand but decide to remain good friends. The trailer for the film reveals them swapping homes as Kutcher’s Peter takes care of Witherspoon’s character Debbie’s son while she takes a vacation at his home in New York.

Arjun Kapoor is reuniting with Finding Fanny director Homi Adajania

Homi Adajania and Arjun Kapoor are set to collaborate again after their 2014 film Finding Fanny. Despite currently working on the promotions for his latest film Kuttey, Arjun Kapoor is also working on his next project. According to new reports, he will officially sign up for the film once the script has been finalised. He reportedly showed interest in the project after Homi Adajania narrated the premise of the film to him.
