Kevin Costner and Morgan Freeman team up to produce a limited series

Acclaimed actors Kevin Costner and Morgan Freeman are teaming up to produce a limited series titled, The Gray House. The six-hour series will explore the significant contribution of several brave women who helped the North win the American Civil War. Costner’s Territory Pictures will work with Freeman and Lori McCreary’s Revelations Entertainment to produce the project. Oscar-nominated director Roland Joffe will direct the series.

Lisa Kudrow joins Taika Waititi's Time Bandits

Friends star Lisa Kudrow has been roped in to play the lead role in Academy Award winner Taika Waititi’s upcoming Apple TV+ series, Time Bandits. Kudrow will play a character named Penelope in the series which is an adaptation of the 1981 film of the same name. Kal-El Tuck, Charlyne Yi, Tadhg Murphy, Rachel House, and Rune Temte have also joined the cast as series regulars. Not much is known about the plot of the series which has been in development since 2019.

Pedro Alonso to return as Berlin in Netflix Money Heist spinoff series

Money Heist fans will be happy to know that Netflix has unveiled the cast of the Spanish spinoff series to the global hit. Titled Berlin, the prequel series will feature Pedro Alonso reprising his role as Andrés de Fonollosa, aka Berlin. The series revolves around the heists carried out by Berlin before the events of Money Heist. Michelle Jenner, Tristán Ulloa, and Begoña Vargas are also part of the cast.

Al Pacino to star alongside Charlie Heaton and Diana Silvers in Billy Knight

Veteran actor Al Pacino will star alongside Diana Silvers and Stranger Things alum Charlie Heaton in an indie film titled, Billy Knight. The film which marks Alec Griffen Roth’s feature film debut will revolve around two students Alex and Emily, played by Heaton and Silvers respectively, who aspire to become filmmakers. Al Pacino plays Billy Knight in the film.

Sean Penn and Matthew Fox join C*A*U*G*H*T

Sean Penn and Matthew Fox have joined the cast of an upcoming six-part comedy series titled, C*A*U*G*H*T. The series also features director, producer and writer Kick Gurry, Ben O’Toole, Lincoln Younes, Alexander England, and Mel Jarnson among others. The plot revolves around four Australian soldiers who are captured by freedom fighters while on a secret mission in a war-torn country. When their hostage video goes viral, they become overnight celebrities. Penn also serves as the executive producer in the series.

Academy members to serve as seat fillers

As per reports, Academy members will be invited to serve as seat-fillers for the annual Oscar ceremony from next year. CEO Bill Kramer and newly elected president Janet Yang released a statement regarding the same. The Oscars will be held on March 12th next year. Last year, host Amy Schumer drew backlash when she introduced Oscar-nominated actress Kirsten Dunst as a ‘seat filler’.
