Netflix viewership

Netflix’s Bridgerton has nabbed the top spot as the most-watched original show on the streaming platform ever. As per the company, most viewers completed watching the eight-episode series when they tuned in.

On the other hand, the action film Extraction, starring Chris Hemsworth in the lead, has topped the list of movie viewership. The film has been watched by 99 million unique accounts within the first 28 days of its release, Netflix said.

The company has also unveiled the data of hours spent watching a film or show. Here too, Bridgerton has emerged on top, followed by Money Heist: Part 4 and Stranger Things 3.

Gensan Punch release on HBO

Filipino filmmaker Brillante Mendoza’s much-awaited next feature, titled Gensan Punch, will premiere on HBO Asia as an Original. Before its digital release, the film will have its global premiere at the Busan International Film Festival next month, as part of the Window on Asian Cinema segment.

The inspirational drama, based on facts, charts the journey of a Japanese man who has a prosthetic leg but dreams of boxing professionally.

The Boys’ Spinoff Series to premiere on Amazon Prime

Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters, known for their work in 'Agent Carter', will take over the reins as showrunners of The Boys spin off series. Craig Rosenberg, who was initially brought in as showrunner, left the team citing creative differences. The new series will be based on a US college exclusively for young superheroes.

Eva Amurri to Play Younger Version of Her Mother Susan Sarandon in Fox Drama ‘Monarch’

Eva Amurri will be essaying the role of a young Dottie Cantrell Roman in Fox’s latest drama series Monarch. Dottie’s character, as her present self, will be portrayed by Susan Sarandon (Amurri’s mother). Amurri has earlier also filled in for her actress mother’s younger versions in films like Dead Man Walking and That’s My Boy.


The popular late-night American sketch comedy is returning for its 47th season. Stars Pete Davidson, Kate McKinnon, Aidy Bryant, Cecily Strong, and Kenan Thompson will be returning to the show after some uncertainty regarding continued presence in the show. However, Beck Bennett, popular for his Vladimir Putin and Mike Pence sketches, will depart the long running series after eight successful years.

Vineeth Sreenivasan movie Hridayam

Vineeth Sreenivasan has announced that his upcoming film, Hridayam, is targeting a theatrical release. The film will feature Pranav Mohanlal, son of Malayalam legend Mohanlal, and Kalyani Priyadarshan, daughter of director Priyadarshan, in the lead roles. The film is said to have 15 songs, and took nearly two years to complete its audio production.
