Retta from Good Girls is set to star in a new murder mystery series

Parks and Recreation actor Retta has been a recurring actor in several NBC shows, and her collaboration with the network is set to continue with a new series. NBC has ordered an official pilot for a new murder mystery series Murder by The Book. The series is set to reunite Retta, Jenna Bans, and Bill Krebs who were all a part of Good Girls. Retta will be playing the lead, an unnamed big-city book reviewer who rises to fame on Instagram for her mystery books.

Meryl Streep will be a part of the third season of Only Murders in The Building

There’s no shortage of A-listers in the cast of the Emmy-nominated show Only Murders In The Building. New reports claim multiple Academy Award-winning actress Meryl Streep has officially joined the cast for the third season. Series star Selena Gomez posted a video with her co-stars Steve Martin and Martin Short along with Meryl Streep as a part of the official announcement. The video also featured Andrea Martin and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantamania star Paul Rudd, who made a guest appearance in the final episode of season two.

Helena Bonham Carter is set to star in the miniseries Nolly

Helena Bonham Carter is revered for her unconventional yet dynamic roles such as Bellatrix Lestrange in the Harry Potter franchise and Marla Singer in Fight Club. For her next project, she will be seen as the British soap opera legend Noel “Nolly" Gordon. Noele was part of the ITV hit soap opera Crossroads for 18 years until she was let go without any explanation. The show is set to air on ITV and ITVX in the UK whereas the Indian release details are yet to be confirmed.

Mandy Moore, Alia Shawkat, and Chris Redd are a part of Ramy Youssef's new series

Ramy Youssef is working on a new animated comedy series titled #1 Happy Family USA. The show has already received a two-season order as part of Youssef's first-look deal with the studio. The core voice line-up for the show has been revealed and it's a big list.

The series regulars will be Alia Shawkat from Search Party, Chris Redd from Saturday Night Live and This is Us star, Mandy Moore. The show will follow a Muslim-American family in the early 2000s USA.

Black Panther 2 and Ant-Man 3 will get theatrical releases in China

The last Marvel film that received a theatrical release in Chinese was Avengers: Endgame, nearly three and a half years ago. China placed a de facto ban on the 2021 film Black Widow and every Marvel film that followed. However, new reports claim that Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania will get theatrical releases in February. This is great news for Marvel Studios and Walt Disney since China makes up the world’s second-largest theatrical market.

Akshay Kumar is set to make a cameo in Ajay Devgn’s Singham Again

Inspired by the MCU multiverse, filmmaker Rohit Shetty seems to be developing his own universe featuring cops. His next project Singham Again is set to feature Ajay Devgn from the Singham series along with Ranveer Singh from Simmba and Akshay Kumar from Sooryavanshi. His cop universe might also include a female-driven story starring Deepika Padukone as Lady Singham.

Stephen Colbert is set to adapt George R.R. Martin’s favourite book into a series

Late-night TV host Stephen Colbert’s production company Spartina is joining hands with Skybound Entertainment and Vincent Newman Entertainment. They are set to adapt Roger Zelazny’s beloved novel The Chronicles of Amber into a drama series. The fantasy novel happens to be a favourite of A Game of Thrones author George R. R. Martin. Zelazny and Martin were great friends until Zelazny’s unfortunate demise in 1995.
