The Morning Show renewed for a third season

Apple TV+ announced that it has greenlit The Morning Show for a third installment. Featuring Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon, the drama series will now see Charlotte Stoudt taking the reigns as showrunner. Creator and previous showrunner (of both seasons 1 and 2) Kerry Ehrin will step down and work as a consultant this season. Ehrin will continue backing other shows for the streaming platform in accordance with the disclosed overall agreement. 

Netflix series All the Light We Cannot See features Mark Ruffalo and Hugh Laurie

Mark Ruffalo and Hugh Laurie have come onboard as protagonists in Netflix’s All The Light We Cannot See, a four-part limited series. Shawn Levy and Steven Knight are creating the series which has been adapted from Anthony Doerr’s Pulitzer Prize-winning book. Aria Mia Loberti is also part of the cast. 

Loberti, a debutante, is blind and plays the visually impaired Marie-Laure, who forged a strong friendship with German soldier Werner as the two try navigating through the devastation of World War II. 

Emily in Paris renewed for seasons 3 and 4

Lily Collins-starrer Emily in Paris is returning for the third and fourth seasons on Netflix, less than a month after the release of its second season on 22 December 2021www. The show follows a Chicago marketing executive who relocates to Paris after a job promotion. As per reports, the third season will be filmed in Paris this spring and summer. 

Kindred series ordered at FX

Octavia E Butler’s novel is being adapted into a web series at FX, and has Branden Jacobs-Jenkins, Darren Aronofsky, Joe Weisberg and Joel Fields on board. The sci-fi series titled Kindred has eight episodes and follows a young Black woman trying to adjust to a new life in Los Angeles. But before she is allowed the time to settle in, she is transported back in time to a nineteenth-century plantation. The show stars Micah Stock, Ryan Kwanten, Gayle Rankin, Austin Smith, Antoinette Crowe-Legacy and David Alexander Kaplan.

Cynthia Erivo to star in new Netflix sci-fi film Blink Speed

Oscar-nominated actress Cynthia Erivo will star in and produce the upcoming sci-fi film Blink Speed. The Netflix film will be written by Eric Brown, and the film will be co-produced by Matt Jackson, who has films such as The Trial Of The Chicago 7 and Molly’s Game under his credits. 

Popular Indonesian martial arts film The Raid to be remade in Hollywood

Welsh director Gareth Evans is set to have a Hollywood remake of his Indonesian martial arts action film, The Raid. He will join forces with renowned action filmmakers Michael Bay and Patrick Hughes and will be released on Netflix with Hughes directing the project.
