Ganesh, Diganth and Pawan to head back to the set of Yogaraj Bhat’s Gaalipata 2 on September 18

The upcoming Kannada romantic comedy Gaalipata 2 has quite the ensemble cast; there’s Golden Star Ganesh, Diganth, director-actor Pawan Kumar, Sharmiela Mandre, Vaibhavi Shandilya and Samyuktha Menon in the lead, with Nishvika pitching in for a special role. Exciting as this collaboration sounds, it can also be quite troublesome getting all of them together, as each of them have other commitments that need attention. While Ganesh had #Sakkath and Triple Riding on his calendar, Pawan’s been planning his next directorial with Puneeth Rajkumar, Diganth had a web series and films like Marigold, Kshamisi Nimma Khaateyalli Hanavilla, apart from newer signings, and Sharmiela had double duty as producer and actor for Dasara, for instance.

It appears that director Yogaraj Bhat has finally managed to get all their schedules to align and will resume shooting Gaalipata on September 18, first in Bengaluru, after which they will head to Kudremukh for six days. Major portions of the film had been shot in Kudremukh and then Kazakhstan earlier this year and word is that this schedule could complete it.

Gaalipata 2 will have Yogaraj Bhat collaborating with music man Arjun Janya for the first time. Ganesh, Diganth and Anant Nag are the only actors who have been retained from the original 2008 film. The director has previously also collaborated with Ganesh on Mungaru Male and Mugulu Nage, while Diganth starred in his Manasaare and Pancharangi. The central theme of Gaalipata was friendship, which is the only common factor with the sequel. Gaalipata 2 marks Vaibhavi’s second Kannada film outing after 2017’s Raj Vishnu.
