Ganesh Venkatram joins Vijay's Varisu, begins shooting for the bilingual film in Hyderabad

Team Varisu had earlier announced the list of actors who are playing important roles in the movie. Sarath Kumar, Prabhu, Prakash Raj, Jayasudha, Srikanth and Shaam have come on board for the bilingual project which has Vijay playing the lead. Vamshi Paidipally is directing the movie which is being produced by Dil Raju.

It is now confirmed that Ganesh Venkatram will also be seen essaying a crucial character in the film which is set for a theatrical release on Pongal 2023. A short video of the actor sitting in his caravan getting ready for his shot in Hyderabad has been going viral on Twitter.

He retweeted the video and replied with a heart emoji without making any other comment on his inclusion in the movie. It is expected that the makers will make an official announcement on his association with Varisu.

The team had released first look, second look and third look from the film on Vijay's birthday, leaving his fans elated. But they are quite upset about the constant leak of pictures and videos from the movie's location. Rashmika Mandanna will be seen sharing screen space with Vijay for the first time while Thaman is scoring music for the movie.

The movie is expected to have a box office clash with Chiranjeevi's Mega 154 (tentative title) and Prabhas' Adipurush in Tollywood while there is an uncertainty with regard to Kollywood releases hitting the screens for Pongal.

While there are unconfirmed reports about Ajith's AK 61 (tentative title) releasing on Pongal festival, its makers are yet to come up with a proper release plan. AK 61, which was initially set to release in Deepavali, will not make it to the festival because of its pending production.
