Gangubai Kathiawadi box office report day 2: Alia Bhatt starrer earns Rs 13.32 crore

Alia Bhatt's Gangubai Kathiawadi has been gathering praises from across the country from fans and critics and has been performing immensely well on the commercial front. Reportedly, the Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial recorded ₹10.5 Cr opening on its first, while the second day performed even better than the day of release by earning ₹ 13.32 Cr.

On Sunday the Bhansali Production house shared the big news with a big poster on its official Instagram handle and called the movie, a pride of cinema.

Meanwhile, Alia also shared the same poster on her IG story.

The fans have appreciated Alia as well as other actors' performances in the film too. The viewers loved Shantanu Maheshwari's performance in his Bollywood debut, while the audience also applauded the powerful cameo appearance by Ajay Devgn. They also praised Vijay Raaz and Seema Pahwa in their new avatars in the biographical drama film.

Based on a part of S Hussain Zaidi's 2011 novel Mafia Queens of Mumbai, Bhansali's latest outing follows the life of sex life workers and revolves around a famous matriarch of Kamathipura, Mumbai.

Bankrolled by Jayantilal Gada and Bhansali under the banners of Bhansali Productions and Pen India Limited, the crime-drama movie premiered at the 72nd Berlin International Film Festival before its official release. 

Gangubai Kathiawadi also features Indira Tiwari, Jim Sarbh, Raza Murad, Huma Qureshi, Varun Kapoor among others as supporting characters.
