Alia Bhatt starrer Gangubai Kathiawadi was released on February 25 with a positive response and reviews from the audience and critics. Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the biographical drama film marked itself in the 100 crore club soon after its release.
On Monday, makers released a BTS video of the movie that showcases how Kamathipura was brought to life in Gangubai Kathiawadi by Bhansali and his team, while today, they have dropped another BTS video titled Making of Dholida.
The latest video showcases how Alia, the choreographers, cinematographers, cameramen and others created such a great montage on a folk track. Meanwhile, Ranveer Singh can be seen gatecrashing during the shoot of the video song.
The video begins with Alia explaining, "It was a very new dance form to me. So, it was not some dance that I had to do as me, as Alia. It was a dance I had to do as Gangubai." "Garba is a form, which looks again easy because it's a folk dance. They look easy but technically they are very complicated and it needs a good foundation of learning," says the choreographer, Kruti Mahesh, who also choreographed Ghoomar alongside Jyoti D Tommar for Bhansali's epic drama movie Padmaavat.
Meanwhile, the Bollywood diva further informs that she rehearsed the whole choreography and especially the hook steps of the song for four days. "The song's shoot was a lot of fun but of course very hard as it was very cold at the night. And I remember my back was caught up and my feet were totally cut and scratched.
At the end of the BTS video, Ranveer Singh, who is actually not a part of the film, can be seen gatecrashing and cheering Alia during the shoot. "Gana ekdam blockbuster! (The song is a blockbuster)," adds the Bollywood hunk.
