Directed by Mohan Raja, Godfather is the Telugu remake of Mohanlal’s Lucifer and marks Salman Khan’s Telugu debut.

The buzz around Chiranjeevi’s upcoming action thriller drama, Godfather, has increased considerably in the last few weeks. This is following the announcement that Salman Khan will be making his Telugu debut with the movie.
Director Mohan Raja has now increased the hype, after he took to social media to share a photo of Khan on the sets of Godfather. The director also confirmed that he has finished a schedule with Salman Khan for the movie. He also thanked the Bollywood superstar for making it comfortable and memorable.
The photos shared by the director have Khan sitting and also working on the sets of Godfather. The actor is seen wearing a bulletproof jacket in the photos.
Godfather is the Telugu remake of the Malayalam blockbuster political action drama, Lucifer, starring Mohanlal and directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran. The movie also saw a cameo performance from Prithviraj, playing the protagonist’s friend and mercenary. Salman Khan could be playing the role essayed by Priithviraj in the Malayalam version.
Recently, megastar Chiranjeevi also took to social media to welcome Salman Khan to the Telugu film industry. “Welcome aboard #Godfather, Bhai @BeingSalmanKhan! Your entry has energized everyone & the excitement has gone to the next level. Sharing a screen with you is an absolute joy.” he wrote on Twitter.
Godfather will also feature Nayanthara reprising Manju Warrier's role from the original film. The project is backed by Konidela Production Company along with Super Good Films.
Khan, who was last seen in Antim: The Final Truth, is also working on Tiger 3. Co-starring Katrina Kaif, this will be the third time the actor will appear as Avinash Singh Rathore aka Tiger in a full length film.
