Hansika, who was last seen in Tamil in Atharvaa-starrer 100, had hit headlines an year ago for making her OTT debut with Telugu web series Nasha. The actress will be next seen in Rowdy Baby, which went on floors in Chennai on Wednesday with an official ceremony. 

Vairamuthu, who is penning lyrics for the project, took to Twitter to announce the news and posted a picture of himself along with Hansika from the ceremony. The film, produced by Ramesh P Pillai, will be directed by JM Raja Saravanan. Sam CS will compose music for the movie which has cinematography by P Chelladurai.

Vairamuthu is seen holding the clapperboard while Hansika is seen praying with folded hands in the picture shared by the former on social media. The actress's last outing was the Telugu flick Tenali Ramakrishna BA BL. Her Tamil film Maha, which was embroiled in a controversy, owing to the tiff between director Jameel and producer Mathialagan was supposed to release earlier this year. 

But the project is yet to see the light of the day. She also has Manoj Damodaran's comedy flick Partner, in which she will share screen presence with Aadhi and Palak Lalwani. Hansika had earlier taken to social media to inform that it is the first film in which she isn't paired opposite anyone.  

Her post read, "Best wishes to our new film #partner :) wishing the entire team a success. A lil information for every one that I’m not paired opposite any one. My character is different from the usual ,that I have done before. Looking forward working on some thing different and exciting." My Name Is Shruthi and 105 Minutes are other projects of hers awaiting releases soon. The latter, it was said that, will have dubbed versions in Chinese and Korean languages.
