Here's when the teaser of Vasanthabalan's long-delayed project Jail will be released

Vasanthabalan's Jail has been lying in the cans for quite some time now. The movie, which has GV Prakash playing the lead and composing music, was wrapped up in 2018. The first look of the film, which has Abarnathi, Radhika Sarathkumar and Robo Shankar among others in key roles, was released more than three years ago. 

Last year, Vasanthabalan had taken to Facebook to express disappointment over the indefinite delay in the movie's release. He wrote, "It's extremely difficult to convince a producer, get the dates of actors and organize shooting of a movie. But what is more painful is the delay in the release of a film which has been completed."          

A few days ago, it was announced that Gnanavel Raja of Studio Green film present the film in theatres. Now, the makers have come up with another update with regard to its teaser. GV Prakash took to Twitter to inform movie buffs that Dhanush will unveil the long-pending project's teaser on Wednesday at 5 pm. 

He tweeted, "#JailTeaser to be released by Tamil Cinema's Pride @Dhanushkraja Tomorrow (Wednesday) at 5 pm (sic)." An excited Vasanthabalan wrote on Twitter, "I have been waiting for a long time to see an update from our project." Interestingly, Dhanush has lent his voice for the song Kaathodu Kaathanen, along with Aditi Rao Hydari, in the movie.  

The director's last outing was the multi-starrer Kaaviya Thalaivan (streaming on Amazon Prime Video) which had hit the screens in 2014. Vasanthabalan and GV Prakash had earlier teamed up for Veyil in which the latter had composed music. The critically acclaimed film won National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Tamil, Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Film and Filmfare Award for Best Director in Tamil.
