House of the Dragon teaser: The Targaryen civil war brews up a fire storm

The fanbase HBO’s Game of Thrones created around the world was as massive as the story it told. Now, the makers have released the teaser for House of Dragon, which is based on one of the many stories from Game of Thrones.

The teaser of House of Dragon shows the beginning of the Targaryen civil war, which starts within the family whose motto is, “Fire and Blood”. The teaser also gives us a look into all the players, small and big, who will fight for a chance to sit on the iron throne.

The teaser hints that the show will have its differences from Game of Thrones, from its timeline to its more book accurate version of the Iron Throne. The show also gives us a glimpse of landmarks such as King's Landing and the Targaryen ancestral home Dragonstone.

While Game of Thrones featured only three dragons that were raised by Daenerys, fans can expect a lot of fiery dragon action in House of Dragon. And because of the timeline and the events of the show, fans can even expect to see multiple dragons going against each other in all out brawls. A lot of fire and blood can be expected from House of Dragon amidst all the politics and history.

Based on George RR Martin's book Fire & Blood, the show is set 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones and will follow the Targaryen family, as they rule over Westeros.

House of Dragon stars Paddy Considin, Emma D'Arcy, Olivia Cooke, Matt Smith and Rhys Ifans, Steve Toussaint, Eve Best, Sonoya Mizuno, Graham McTavish and Ryan Corr among others.

The series will start airing on HBO and HBO Max around the world on August 21.
