Popular actor Huma Qureshi has several projects in her kitty. She is on a roll. She has now also completed the shoot of the biopic on the celebrated chef Tarla Dalal. Huma will be seen portraying the role of India’s first-ever home chef, Tarla Dalal.
The actor was filming for continuous 37 days in Mumbai and has now wrapped up the film. She shot a wedding sequence on the last day of the filming. Huma has put her all into the film. She has worked hard to prepare for the role. Before the film went on the floor, the actor would wear the dentures for long hours and practice speaking with them, so that she is comfortable with them while acting in front of the camera as the camera would capture even the slightest hint of effort or discomfort.
As part of her prep, Huma also devoured hours of footage, picking up on Tarla Dalal's accent, pitch, and mannerisms. In her statement, the actress said that every character one plays as an actor leaves an impression in the minds and souls of the people and Tarla Dalal is one such character that has definitely left an impression on her soul. "It truly holds a special place in my heart. As I wrap the film, I cannot help but think of the quiet strength, love, humour and empathy she had," she said.
Huma Qureshi comes from a hospitality and business background as her father owns a prominent restaurant in Delhi. Piyush Gupta, the co-writer of Aamir Khan’s movie, Dangal, is directing the film on the celebrated chef and food writer. The film will chronicle her personal and professional life, from being a chef to author of several recipe books. For the time being, the film's working title is 'Tarla’.
The actor also has another film in the pipeline. She is also shooting for the film Double XL with co-star Sonakshi Sinha.
