I am a woman, not a parcel; Alia Bhatt reacts to reports about her pregnancy

Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor recently took the internet by storm as they announced the news of expecting their first child together. Alia made the announcement by sharing a picture of her and husband Ranbir during their sonography session at the hospital and captioned it, "Our baby...coming soon (sic)." Alia and Ranbir are seen looking at the monitor in the picture.

Soon, the couple was flooded with congratulatory messages from friends, family, the film fraternity, and well wishers. The actress today shared that she was overwhelmed with all the love coming from across the quarters and thanked everyone who wished the couple.

In the meantime, she also hit out at certain reports that said that Alia will be resting after the shoot and that Ranbir might go to the UK to bring his wife back home. Responding to the reports, Alia said that she was a woman and not a parcel and that no one needed to pick her up. She added that she did not need to rest and indicated that she was shooting and that no project of hers was delayed due to the pregnancy. She stated that it's time we got out of our archaic ways of thinking.

She wrote, "Meanwhile we still live in some peoples heads we still live in some patriarchal word..fyi. Nothing has gotten delayed!!!!! No one needs to PICK anyone up. I am a woman not a parcel!!!! I do not need to REST at all but good to know you's ll have a doctor's certification as well. This is 2022. Can we pls get out of this archake way of thinking! Now if you excuse me... my shot is ready (sic)."

Ranbir and Alia got married earlier in April after dating each other for many years. On the film front, the duo are working together in Brahmastra Part One, a fantasy adventure film, directed by Ayan Mukerji. The film is bankrolled by Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, Namit Malhotra, and Mukerji under the banners Dharma Productions, Prime Focus and Starlight Pictures, along with Star Studios.
