Sobhita Dhulipala feels that Indian women are still living abiding by patriarchal rules, which is like Stockholm syndrome. In an interview with Cosmopolitan India, the Made in Heaven actress shared her insights on being a woman in India.
She revealed that she has met women who are so judgemental about other women trying to break their comfort zones. She also thinks that women curtail the growth of other women instead of boosting each other’s. The ones who are already oppressed by patriarchy are not only unable to take a stand, but also find it easier to pull others down, said the actress.
Sobhita, who gained popularity after her lead role in the web series Made In Heaven also thinks that our country needs better ‘relationship education’ since the already existing rules are not applicable anymore.
The actress is also excited to reprise her iconic role on Made In Heaven, in the Season 2 of the series. Besides Bollywood, she has already been on board for Mollywood’s upcoming film Kurup starring Dulquer Salmaan. She is all set to debut in Tamil cinema as well, with Mani Ratnam’s magnum opus Ponniyin Selvan, while she also has the Adivi Shesh-starrer Major and Vandana Kataria’s Sitara in her pipeline. She will be appearing in Monkey Man, which is the directorial debut of Slumdog Millionaire star Dev Patel. There is a buzz that she has bagged a Hollywood project as well.
